Signed by both Perles and Miller on a paste-down on the ffep, along with an inscription written by Miller: "This copy for Tom Sawyer of Big Sur, California. With genuine holographs from/by his friends, Fred and Henry. / Jan. 25th 1956"

Alfred Perles stayed with Miller at his house in Big Sur while writing this book, and presumably Tom Sawyer was a friend they made during that time.

Condition: Dust jacket is in mylar, has light chipping to the edges and a touch of discoloration at the upper spine end of the dj. Dust jacket is intact, retains the 16s. price on the front flap. A couple corners of the cover boards lightly bumped, and the front cover has a very shallow bow. Minimal foxing to endpapers, otherwise clean and neat! Binding is firm.
