Drinkers of the Wind
by Carl R. Raswan
New York: Creative Age Press
First edition, 1942
SIGNED and inscribed by Raswan on the half-title page: "To Mrs Frank E. Arnold, well known in Chicago, Denver, and on the Pacific Coast an an expert equestrian" and includes a passage in Arabic, a quote in English, signed and dated Denver, Oct. 9, 1942.
Raswan has also written on two pages (see photos): the title page indicating which horse is featured on the frontispiece, and on page 56, where he states that he knew the horse Zarife as a colt in 1928 when Princed Muhammad Ali of Egypt owned him, and again in 1942 when he found Zarife on"Mr Van Vleet's ranch in Colorado".
Condition: Hardcover; dust jacket is in poor condition, scuffed with small tears and chips along the corners, front spine edge has been taped. The tape has discolored the cover boards a little as well. Book itself in very good condition, only found one instance of faint pencil marks around one passage, besides Raswan's own annotations. Binding is secure.
