The Book of Fate
Formerly in the possession of and used by Napoleon
Rendered into the English language by H. Kirchenhoffer
from a German translation of an Ancient Egyptian Manuscript
found in the year 1801 by M. Sonnini in one of the Royal Tombs
near Mount Libycus in Upper Egypt
Photographic reproduction of the 1822 edition.
Personal Arts Co. 1927.
Includes the large, loose fold-out graph for your divination needs--see photos!
Condition: Hardcover; what remains of the dust jacket is in protective mylar, dust jacket missing a change at the lower front and on the back, flaps are intact, has small sticker from previous bookdealer on front-flap mylar. Previous owner's bookplate on front blank page. Binding is strained in several places, but overall remains secure. The first "Oracle Reading" in the back has been filled out in pencil with the depressing question "Shall I make or mar my fortune by gambling?" To which the oracle answers: "Abuse not the power the Lord giveth and thy name will be held with rapture in the future ages". Plenty of pages remain unfilled-out to cryptically answer all your burning questions.
