Julio Kaplan, como estimuto y paz que se prepare a games el titulo de Gran Maestro en el proximo Capablanca in Memoriam, de 1968, par el cuel queda invitodo. Sinconamente, ___(?) Campeon FIDE Viens, 18/x/67"
...which Google translates as: "To the FIDE World Champion (Youth). Dedicated with all affection to the brand new International Master of the ____ (?) Julio Kaplan, as an encouragement and peace to prepare for the title of Grand Master in the next Capablanca in Memoriam, from 1968, for which he is invited. Sincerely, ___(?) Julio Kaplan would have been 17 years old. I can't make out who it was signed by, but presumably another Spanish-speaking chess player.
Condition: Paper covers, with heavy wear--see photos. Covers partially torn away from the metal piece that binds the volume--all the issues are visible in the photos. Very faintly in blue ballpoint pen is written "1967" on the front cover, and circled several times. The actual text book remains firmly bound with that metal fixture, and is clean and unmarked save for some slight darkening of the pages.
