Volumes 8 and 9 bound in one of this monthly periodical, comprising the full year of 1851. Twelve issues.
Philadelphia: John Sartain and Co. Fully illustrated.
Condition: Antiquarian hardcover is in fair/as is condition. Cover boards have fairly heavy wear, both front and back boards pulling away from text block. Front blank page has a small ownership stamp that appears to read "D.W. Ware", and "77". Heavy age-related discoloration to blank papers on opposing side of endpapers. Some foxing/discoloration throughout. As far as I can tell, all illustrations and plates are present. There is one sheet that has become detached, otherwise on the whole the binding of the text block remains secure.
Several if not all issues include a Ladies' Department with a few illustrations and descriptions of the latest fashions for 1851. Lots of poetry, articles, stories, even sheet music, not to mention all of the illustrations and plates.
